The 2018 Student Environmental and Recycling Summit was a big success. We had 82 students and teachers in attendance.
Our Department of Sanitation attended the 2017 Arkansas Recycling Coalition Conference last week in Eureka Springs, AR. Our employees were educated about recycling efforts happening within our state, as well as what is happening in others states. Thank you ARC! AR
This was my second time to attend the conference, and I think it is an amazing opportunity for industry representatives like me to meet with recycling vendors, regulators, and other industry representatives who have mutual interest in the same pursuit of waste minimization and recycling. This year, I had the opportunity to meet representatives of two recycling vendors that may have the potential to handle a significant waste stream that we generate here. I do not think we would have had the same good fortune without an opportunity like this conference. NH
This was my first ARC conference and it will not be my last. I was blown away by the quality of speakers and topics presented. RS
I wanted to thank you so much for the opportunity to speak at your annual conference earlier this week. It was such a great event, and I had a fantastic time and am so grateful for the tremendous hospitality. KB
Nice party :) Just wanted you to know you had an excellent event - heard lot’s of positive comments. M

Welcome to the ARC on the Web!
Who we are:
The Arkansas Recycling Coalition (ARC) unites large and small companies, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and individuals in a common effort to promote REDUCE, REUSE, REPURPOSE and RECYCLE as the primary means of SUSTAINABLE waste management in Arkansas. The unique blend of over 200 members promotes a sharing of ideas and understanding of diverse interests and needs.
Where we have been:
The ARC was formed in 1989 in response to the need for comprehensive information and programs on reduce, reuse, recycle, and waste reduction. The original effort was spearheaded by Ozark Recycling Enterprise, Inc. through a Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation grant.
Where we are going:
The ARC is committed to assisting members in improving their reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle opportunities, recycle skills and techniques through education, special studies, research and the exchange of ideas and technical knowledge. The ARC has pledged to educate the general public and members of government and the business community about the economic and environmental significance of recycling.
