ARC, in conjunction with Call2Recycle/RBRC, will be hosting a contest at the conference.  Bring in your used rechargeable batteries and old cell phones from home or work to enter a drawing for prizes to be awarded.  Call2Recycle battery collection boxes will be located in the lobby of the convention center, so for each battery or cell phone brought to the conference for recycling, you will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize donated by Call2Recycle.

Rechargeable batteries are used to power cell and cordless phones, portable power tools, laptop computers, kid's remote control toys, home security alams, solar lights, and dozens of other portable consumer electronics.  Visit www.call2recycle.org for more information on products that contain rechargeable batteries, or for information on how to participate in this free battery and cell phone recycling program.

As a service to conference attendees, the Carroll County Sheriff's Department will be on hand to accept your unwanted prescription drugs.  There will be a dropbox in the lobby of the conventon center ....  so clean out your medicine cabinet and take advantage of their service.  No liquids please!

"After the Great Recession, Fall Back into Recycling" will be the theme for the Arkansas Recycling Coalition's (ARC) 21st Annual Conference, Awards Luncheon, and Trade Show.  Recyclers and solid waste managers from across the state will come together to share ideas, success stories and obstacles faced during economic hard times.

The ARC Conference continues to offer valuable educational sessions and networking opportunities. Continuing Education Units (CEU's) are available, so get your required training on the books.  In addition to the educational sessions and networking opportunities, the annual awards luncheon will recognize outstanding recyclers from around the state at a luncheon given in their honor on September 21.

This year, we are pleased to present two special guest speakers:  Randy C. Frazier, President of Frazier Communications, Inc., and Brian Taylor, Associate Publisher/Editorial Director of Recycling Today Media Group.  As a featured speaker in more than 40 states and Tuesday's keynote, Frazier is sure to motivate with a fun, enlightening presentation.  On Wednesday, explore the "State of Recycling in the World" during Taylor's keynote.

Tour: (September 19) ORE will be sponsoring a tour of Cram-A-Lot/JV Mfg., a manufacturer of recycling equipment located in Springdale and then it is off to visit the UofA's Razorback Recycling Facility in Fayetteville.  Here you will have an opportunity to see a first class recycling facility in operation.  Their facility just happens to be ARC's 2011 recipient for outstanding University Recycler of the Year Award. The bus will begin boarding at 11:45 AM at the convention center and depart at 12 Noon returning to the center at 5:00 PM.

Golf Tournament: Calling all golfers!  We will be hosting a golf tournament at Holiday Island Country Club on Monday, September 19, so start forming your team and get ready for some competition.  If you do not have a team one will be assigned to you,  Dan Hodson and Rick Taylor will be the co-chairs again this year.
